Taming some very scary problems

The people at SAIC are used to taming some very scary problems so we were delighted to be invited by their agency the Richards Group to tame the very scary problem of full image production.

Working from the creative brief to envision and build the embodiment of the energy management monster that bedevils SAIC's corporate clients, our concept artist sketched out some rough character studies. Once the winning design was approved, we modeled, textured and rendered the lovely creature you see in the advert below.

We also commissioned the photographer and a scouted a location to shoot the "live" elements of the piece. All the live and CGI elements were then re-lit and retouched to create the right overall mood.

The result is a beautiful image of a character we wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley..

Grafuck 4 = Creative Foreplay

We were surprised, but honoured, when one of our original images, The Painted Lady, was requested to appear in the upcoming steamy and tantalising collection of erotic art works, Grafuck Book 4. Grafuck is the US book famed for featuring the latest erotic work from a diverse group of established and emerging international artists.

To coincide with the book launch, The Painted Lady will also appear in the Grafuck 4 Art Exhibition which is being held in Los Angeles on 11-20 April 2009.

James Digby -Jones, our creative director put it this way;
“It’s always nice when someone looks at your work and interprets it in a way that you hadn’t thought of before. We created the CG image a couple of years ago and let’s just say that we didn’t expect her to be making an appearance in a collection of erotic works.."

F1 Is Back!

With the F1 season firmly underway (Congratulations Jensen!), we thought we would share some recently completed work we did for Northstar featuring the Red Bull racing team. Exquisitely shot by photographer Ric Guest, we were tasked with creating a virtual CG factory for the backgrounds when the actual factory was unavailable.

We hope you enjoy the results.

Of Course, for more F1 related fun, read our previous blog entry...
